Anyone who still thought of online slot games as small time, take note. Online gaming technology and services provider Playtech has seen a Winner.com customer scoop up a £2.37m jackpot. This is the largest sum ever won on the game by a UK player. The colossal jackpot haul came by way of the Gladiator progressive slot that we at Free Slot Money reviewed back in July with the jackpot then reaching £1.75m. This latest win smashes the previous record announced by Playtech, via Mecca Bingo, operated by licensee Rank Interactive by over £1.2m.
Playtech’s Head of Casino, Amir Askarov, congratulated the player on their win and stated that they were “honoured to offer players prizes on this scale.”
“We take pride in the strong content and features of our slots and jackpots and are delighted to continually offer our players the opportunity to win huge prizes through our expanding games portfolio,” Askarov said.
Shares in Playtech plc (Co. Data) (LSE:PTEC) opened in London Tuesday morning at a new 52-week high of 758.50 pence per share before falling back to 743.00 pence per share, down 0.8 per cent.
Net Entertainment Revenues on the Rise
In other financial news, Sweden’s Net Entertainment, provider of many of today’s best online slot games, has risen today on news of higher than expected earnings for the 3rd quarter of 2013. The technology company has seen impressive growth over 12 months with revenues up 25% against the same period last year.
