The third largest Powerball Jackpot win in US history was won by a Wisconsin resident to the tune of $768 Million on Tuesday. The 24 year old man, Manuel Franco, came forward with the winning ticket he purchased on March 27th at a Speedway gas station in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
He had bought a series of quick pick tickets and had thought he went through all $10 worth that he bought when he found the mega winner stuck to another ticket. Commenting on the experience, he explained ““I was going insane. I looked back at the three other numbers, they all matched. My heart started racing, my blood started pumping, I felt warm. I started screaming.”
Rather than installments, Franco chose the lump sum payout of $477 million. Unlike other powerball winners, he chose to quit his job after the 2nd day of learning about his win. Who could blame him?? Franco doesn’t know what the next chapter holds for him, but for now, he’s feeling very lucky indeed.
