In a social media marriage the likes of which might rival Kanye and Kim, Online Casino, Slots, and Bingo Operator BGO Entertainment has announced the signing of Paris Hilton as brand ambassador to join the self styled Gaming playboy Dan Bilzerian.
Collectively bringing to the party somewhere upwards of 30 million followers, and that is even allowing for a degree of crossover, the partnership is another powerhouse move by the gaming group. The move follows in the wake of their promotions featuring Verne Troyer (aka Mini Me) that have been credited for increasing revenue growth by 100% during that campaign.
Paris still pulls huge weight in certain circles but her appearance in forthcoming advertising to be filmed at The W Hotel in Los Angles might be seen by some as shining new light on a fading starlet. Whilst this piece of work is unlikely to be viewed by as many people as her previous hotel location piece “One Night in Paris,” it will likely feature superior cinematography and less night vision. An association with a new brand and especially one with the likes of Bilzerian (current Instagram followers 7.6m) may be just what the socialite needs to find herself back on the invite list of the LA party planners.
For BGO the move will surely have nothing but positive connotations as they seek to establish themselves as where the noise is in online gaming and in online gaming marketing. The latter category is becoming as competitive as the former, with faces of the brand often being as important of a business driver as any promotional offer. In respect of the upcoming media blitz that will surely follow, BGO co-founder Richard Skelhorn went on record to say “I’m extremely excited to be working with Paris Hilton. She is a huge star, there is no bigger celebrity in gaming and I have always wanted to work with her on BGO. I hope our next TV campaign is just the start of what will be a very successful relationship for both parties.”
We may take issue with the “huge star” sentiments, and we suspect that Dan might, even just with the “in gaming part” but you can’t argue with those social media numbers. Let’s see how her presence will reflect in BGO revenues in the upcoming months.
