Giant UK online casino operators have been opting for an assortment of software providers for their online casino game product suite, however, Sky Bet has chosen to agree an exclusive deal with Playtech. Under the agreement, the world’s largest online sports and casino betting platform will provide Sky Bet with both casino and live dealer products. Casino games are to include table games and online slots that are available via both desktop and mobile applications.
The Director of Product at Sky Bet commented on the exclusive agreement stating, “We are delighted to launch Sky Casino where our customers will enjoy a classic casino experience with more personalised promotions and rewards. Partnering with Playtech and utilising their industry leading casino platform allows us to create another exciting chapter in the development of Sky Betting and Gaming.”
Adding to the partnership, Playtech’s chief operating officer Shay Segev states “We have built a strong relationship with Sky over a number of years and are thrilled to be able to further consolidate our service provision to one of the industry’s most exciting operators. We look forward to working with Sky Bet to explore additional business opportunities in the near future.”
As many online operators have signed deals with a variety of casino software providers, software giants like Playtech are reaching out to agree exclusive deals. Back in March 2014, Playtech signed an exclusive agreement with Ladbrokes, and now five months later we see a similar exclusivity deal reached with Sky Bet. With the recent consolidation in casino software development, seen with the Scientific Games and Bally Technologies as well as GTECH and IGT, casino software giants are finding the need to agree these types of exclusivity deals with casino operators as much as they can.
